Tenashie Book Donation & Literacy Engagement

On Feb 21, 2026, Mayekoo’s team, volunteers, and community partners (Lincoln Community School, the Indian High Commission in Ghana, Fafali Organization, Rotary Club – Premier International, Verna, Ghana Must Read, and Ako Adjei Lit Up) spent the morning at Tenashie A/B Primary School (Osu, Accra) doing something simple but meaningful: putting books in kids’ hands and reading with them. Not just dropping books off but actually sitting down, reading and sharing stories and engaging with the 50 pupils who were in attendance.

Through our Library-in-a-Box approach, we received and donated 600 storybooks to support the Tenashie Reading Club and help strengthen a real culture of reading at the school.

A big thank you to every partner and volunteer who showed up and helped make literacy feel exciting and real for these kids. We’ll share more updates as the reading club continues.
