1. About Mayekoo and Its Mission

Project Andiamo Foundation d/b/a Mayekoo (“Mayekoo”) is a U.S. nonprofit public charity recognized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Mayekoo is dedicated to advancing sustainable social impact projects across marginalized communities by connecting volunteers, donors, institutions, and communities to accelerate progress in education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability.

We use knowledge sharing, project management and execution oversight, and technology to connect global donors with vetted organizations and community-based initiatives that deliver measurable social impact.

  • Entity: Project Andiamo Foundation d/b/a Mayekoo
  • EIN: 99-4581185
  • Status: Recognized by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) public charity
  • Principal Mailing Address: 11301 W. Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90064, USA

All donations made through the Services are charitable contributions to Mayekoo, and Mayekoo retains discretion and control over regranting consistent with IRS requirements and applicable law.

2. Mayekoo’s Charitable Giving and Regranting Model

Mayekoo is not a pass-through payment processor and does not simply forward funds at a donor’s direction. Instead:

  • Donations are made to Mayekoo (a U.S. 501(c)(3) public charity).
  • Mayekoo may make regrants to eligible nonprofit organizations and charitable initiatives (“Partner Organizations”) after appropriate review.
  • Donor preferences for specific Partner Organizations or projects are treated as non-binding recommendations, not legal restrictions.
  • Mayekoo maintains discretion regarding regrant timing and allocation to ensure compliance with charitable solicitation and cross-border giving rules.

This structure supports charitable compliance and allows Mayekoo to ensure donations are used for mission-aligned charitable purposes.

3. Eligibility of Grantees

A. Criteria for Eligibility

To receive a regrant, a Partner Organization generally must:

  • be legally recognized and in good standing within its home jurisdiction;
  • demonstrate baseline governance and financial transparency;
  • operate in a manner consistent with Mayekoo’s mission;
  • pass sanctions / anti-money laundering (AML) / anti-terrorist financing screening; and
  • provide required banking and compliance documentation.

B. Verification and Review

Mayekoo may request and verify:

  • legal registration or charitable status documentation;
  • annual reports, audited financials, or other transparency documentation (where available);
  • identity information for key personnel for compliance screening; and
  • evidence of program activity.

Ongoing Screening: Verification may be repeated periodically. While Mayekoo conducts diligence, we do not guarantee the accuracy of third-party representations or outcomes, and we disclaim responsibility for the acts or omissions of Partner Organizations.

Listings and Content Disclaimer: Information about Partner Organizations may be based on publicly available sources and/or information provided by Partner Organizations or their representatives. A listing, profile, or donation page:

  • does not constitute a legal endorsement or guarantee by Mayekoo; and
  • may include statements that have not been independently verified in every detail.

If you become aware of potential fraud, misuse of funds, or material misrepresentations, please contact us at hello@mayekoo.com

We (including our affiliates and licensors) expressly disclaim any liability or responsibility for: the accuracy of information about any Charity, or whether any Charity will use Donations as described or in accordance with the law, or any Charity’s conduct, whether online or offline. Those responsibilities are solely with the Charity.

We can not guarantee that all Charities are and will be who they say they are. We review charities to ensure that they are in good standing with the Internal Revenue Service or their domestic regulatory authority.

If you become aware of any potential fraudulent activity, misuse of funds, or other indications that donations to a Charity will not be used as represented, please contact us via hello@mayekoo.com.

Donor Responsibilities

Donors are responsible for reviewing available information and ensuring they understand how their donation may be used in furtherance of the relevant charitable purpose.

4. Donation Lifecycle

Step 1 — Charitable Gift to Mayekoo

When you donate through Mayekoo, you are making a charitable contribution to Mayekoo itself, not directly to the featured Grantee.

Step 2 — Processing

Your donation is processed by trusted third-party payment providers (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, Paystack). All such providers comply with PCI-DSS standards and maintain their own terms of service and privacy policies.

Step 3 — Pooling

Mayekoo may pool donations recommended for a given Partner Organization or charitable purpose before initiating a regrant, for efficiency and cost reduction.

Step 4 — Compliance Screening

Mayekoo conducts internal and partner-assisted compliance checks, including AML, OFAC, sanctions, and watchlist screenings.

Step 5 — Regrant Disbursement

Funds are regranted to eligible organizations through ACH, wire transfer, or international remittance partners. Regranting typically occurs within 15–30 days following the end of the month in which the donation was received, though timing may vary.

Step 6 — Reporting and Updates

Mayekoo may collect receipts, summaries, and narrative updates and may share aggregated outcomes with donors and the public.

5. Alternate Recipient Policy (“Variance Power”)

If a recommended Partner Organization becomes ineligible or unreachable—due to loss of status, dissolution, compliance concerns, legal restrictions, or inability to accept funds—Mayekoo may regrant funds to an alternate, mission-aligned charitable recipient working in a similar area and/or region.

This variance power helps ensure every donation continues to serve a charitable purpose if circumstances change.

6. Timing of Regrants

  • Standard Cycle: Regrants generally occur within 15–30 days following the end of the calendar month in which the donation was received, subject to compliance review and operational factors.
  • Minimum Thresholds: Mayekoo may apply minimum thresholds (e.g., for small aggregate amounts) to reduce disproportionate bank fees.
  • Cross-Border Delays: International banking, documentation, currency controls, and intermediary banks may extend timelines.
  • Force Majeure: Events beyond our control may affect processing or disbursement.

7. Fees, Costs, and Transparency

Mayekoo aims to maximize charitable impact while maintaining compliance, donor support, and operational sustainability.

A. Categories of Costs

Costs may include:

  • Payment Processing Fees (charged by payment processors and networks)
  • Platform Operations (technology, security, customer support, legal/compliance)
  • International Disbursement Costs (bank fees, FX spreads, intermediary bank charges, local compliance support)

B. How Fees Are Handled

  • Unless otherwise stated, applicable costs may be deducted prior to regranting.
  • Where offered, donors may have the option at checkout to voluntarily contribute an additional amount to support operational costs (often presented as an option to “cover fees”).
  • Sponsors or corporate partners may underwrite certain costs in some campaigns.

C. Illustrative Fee Ranges

While actual costs vary by geography, banking rails, and compliance requirements, typical all-in costs (including third-party processing and international disbursement/compliance) may range from 10%–12% for cross-border regrants.

8. Refunds and Corrections

Donations are generally final and non-refundable, except where Mayekoo determines that:

  • a processing error occurred (e.g., duplicate charge),
  • a transaction was unauthorized, or
  • a refund is required by applicable law.

Refund requests must be submitted to hello@mayekoo.com promptly. If funds have already been included in a disbursement batch or regranted, refunds may not be possible.

9. Tax Receipts and Deductibility

  • Receipts: Mayekoo issues receipts acknowledging charitable contributions made to Mayekoo.
  • Deductibility: Donations may be tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. U.S. donors may generally claim deductions under IRC §170 subject to individual circumstances. Non-U.S. donors should consult local tax advisors regarding treatment in their jurisdictions.
  • No Goods or Services: Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no goods or services are provided in exchange for donations.

10. Donor Recognition and Anonymity

Mayekoo may display donor names on campaign pages or acknowledgment materials. Donors may choose anonymity at checkout or by contacting hello@mayekoo.com Anonymous donors still receive receipts and full compliance screening.

We do not sell, rent, or share donor lists for commercial purposes.

11. Due Diligence and Compliance

Mayekoo employs a multi-layered due-diligence process including:

  • Automated Watchlist Screening (OFAC, EU, UN, UK, etc.);
  • Manual Document Review (registration, leadership, financials);
  • Continuous Monitoring (alerts for status changes or adverse media).

Where risk is identified, Mayekoo may:

  • delay or freeze a disbursement;
  • request additional documentation;
  • redirect funds; or
  • report to regulators or enforcement authorities if required.

12. International Transfers and Foreign Exchange

  • Currencies: Donations are typically processed in U.S. dollars (USD). Regrants may be converted into local currency using prevailing market rates at time of disbursement.
  • Fees: Intermediary and receiving banks may impose fees or conversion spreads beyond Mayekoo’s control.
  • Regulatory Controls: Mayekoo complies with all applicable export-control, sanctions, and anti-terrorism laws. Funds will not be transmitted to restricted jurisdictions or entities.

13. Restricted Causes and Excluded Activities

Mayekoo will not knowingly regrant funds to any organization or project that:

  • promotes violence, hate, or discrimination;
  • supports terrorist, criminal, or extremist activity;
  • engages in partisan political campaigning or lobbying;
  • misuses charitable funds for private benefit;
  • violates international humanitarian or human-rights norms.

Violation may result in suspension of funding, recovery actions, and reporting to relevant authorities.

14. Use of Funds by Grantees

All regrants must be used exclusively for charitable purposes consistent with the represented project or cause. Mayekoo requires basic reporting on outcomes, photos, or narratives.

If a Grantee misapplies funds, Mayekoo may:

  • demand repayment;
  • reallocate future disbursements;
  • report to regulators; and/or
  • permanently terminate partnership status.

15. Impact Reporting and Accountability

Transparency is core to our mission. Mayekoo collects and publishes impact data including:

  • number of projects funded;
  • amounts distributed;
  • stories and testimonials from Grantees;
  • aggregated outcomes such as children educated, patients served, or tons of waste removed.

These reports may be shared on our website, in newsletters, and in our annual report.

16. Data Privacy and Security

  • Data Collection: We collect donor information necessary for receipts, compliance, and impact communication.
  • Use and Sharing: Data may be shared with payment processors, auditors, or regulators where required.
  • Storage: Data is stored securely in accordance with U.S. and international privacy laws.
