These Disclosures explain how Project Andiamo Foundation d/b/a Mayekoo (“Mayekoo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates as a U.S. 501(c)(3) platform charity. They are incorporated by reference into our Terms of Use and are provided to ensure compliance, transparency, and donor confidence.

By donating through our website, mobile application, embedded forms, or any other mechanism (the “Services”), you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Disclosures.

1. About Mayekoo and Its Mission

Mayekoo is a U.S.-based public charity dedicated to advancing education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability across Africa. We use knowledge sharing, oversight, and technology to connect global donors with local, vetted organizations that deliver measurable social impact.

  • Entity: Project Andiamo Foundation d/b/a Mayekoo

  • EIN: 99-4581185

  • Status: Recognized by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) public charity

  • Principal Mailing Address: 11301 W. Olympic Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90064, USA

  • Contact: hello@mayekoo.com

All donations made through the Services are charitable contributions to Mayekoo, which retains full discretion and control over regranting in accordance with IRS requirements.

2. Platform Charity Model

Unlike crowdfunding platforms, Mayekoo does not simply pass donations to others. Instead, we operate as a platform charity, meaning:

  1. All contributions are made to Mayekoo, a U.S. 501(c)(3) organization.

  2. Mayekoo regrants these funds to eligible charities, NGOs, or nonprofits (“Grantees”) that have been verified through our due-diligence process.

  3. Donor preferences for specific causes or organizations are treated as non-binding recommendations, not as legal restrictions.

  4. Regrants are made under Mayekoo’s discretion, ensuring compliance with U.S. charitable solicitation and international giving laws.

This structure ensures that all gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law, and that funds are used solely for charitable purposes.

3. Eligibility of Grantees

A. Criteria for Selection

To receive a regrant, a Grantee must:

  • be a legally recognized nonprofit, NGO, or charitable organization in good standing within its home jurisdiction;

  • demonstrate governance and financial transparency;

  • operate programs consistent with Mayekoo’s mission;

  • pass sanctions, anti-money-laundering (AML), and anti-terrorist-financing checks; and

  • provide appropriate banking and compliance documentation.

B. Verification and Review

Mayekoo may request and verify:

  • registration certificates or tax-exempt status;

  • audited financial statements or annual reports;

  • identity and background of directors, trustees, and key personnel; and

  • evidence of program activity and impact.

Verification is ongoing; any Grantee may be re-screened periodically. We can not guarantee that all Charities are and will be who they say they are.

Our Website or Services allow event hosts, prospective donors, and others to look up Charities and obtain additional information about them, or may allow users to select one or more Charities to receive Regrants of Donations. Our listing of a Charity does not constitute a solicitation on its behalf, nor does it constitute any endorsement or other support of the Charity.

In most cases, we do NOT have an agreement in place with a listed Charity and those Charities have not provided consent or permission for our listing them in our database and presenting them as eligible to receive regranted donations. Such consent is NOT required, since 1) our listing uses publicly available information, and 2) we will remove any charity from our listing if they so request.

If any fundraiser page was created to promote charitable fundraising, the contents of such pages may not have been reviewed or approved by the Charity.

We (including our affiliates and licensors) expressly disclaim any liability or responsibility for: the accuracy of information about any Charity, or whether any Charity will use Donations as described or in accordance with the law, or any Charity’s conduct, whether online or offline. Those responsibilities are solely with the Charity.

We can not guarantee that all Charities are and will be who they say they are. We review Charities to ensure that they are in good standing with the Internal Revenue Service or their domestic regulatory authority.

If you become aware of any potential fraudulent activity, misuse of funds, or other indications that donations to a Charity will not be used as represented, please contact us via hello@mayekoo.com.

Donor Responsibilities

If you are a donor, it is your responsibility to ensure that you are requesting that we regrant funds to the correct charity; and to understand how your money will be used by that charity.

4. Donation Lifecycle

Step 1 — Gift to Mayekoo

When you donate through Mayekoo, you are making a charitable contribution to Mayekoo itself, not directly to the featured Grantee.

Step 2 — Processing

Your donation is processed by trusted third-party payment providers (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, Paystack). All such providers comply with PCI-DSS standards and maintain their own terms of service and privacy policies.

Step 3 — Pooling

For efficiency and cost-effectiveness, Mayekoo may pool donations to a given Grantee or cause before initiating a regrant.

Step 4 — Compliance Screening

Mayekoo conducts internal and partner-assisted compliance checks, including AML, OFAC, sanctions, and watchlist screenings.

Step 5 — Regrant Disbursement

Funds are regranted to eligible organizations through ACH, wire transfer, or international remittance partners. Regranting typically occurs within 15–45 days following the end of the month in which the donation was received, though timing may vary.

Step 6 — Impact Reporting

Mayekoo collects reports, receipts, and narrative updates from Grantees and may share aggregated results with donors and the public.

5. Alternate Charity Policy

If a preferred Grantee becomes ineligible or unreachable—due to loss of charitable status, dissolution, legal restrictions, or non-compliance—Mayekoo may regrant the funds to an alternate mission-aligned organization working in a similar cause area and region.

This “variance power” ensures that every donation continues to serve a charitable purpose, even if circumstances change.

6. Timing of Regrants

  • Standard Cycle: 15–45 days post-month-end, subject to compliance review.

  • Minimum Thresholds: Mayekoo may set minimum amounts (e.g., USD $20 per disbursement). Smaller totals may be held until thresholds are reached.

  • Cross-Border Delays: International banking, currency controls, or documentation issues may extend timelines.

  • Force Majeure: Events beyond our control (e.g., natural disasters, system outages) may affect disbursement timing.

7. Fees, Costs, and Transparency

Mayekoo aims to maximize impact while maintaining compliance, safety, and sustainability.

A. Fee Categories

Typical fee categories include:

  1. Payment Processing Fees — Charged by payment networks and processors.

  2. Platform Administration — Technology, cybersecurity, legal, and compliance expenses.

  3. Cross-Border Handling — Currency conversion, intermediary bank charges, local compliance partner costs.

  4. Operational Support — Transaction monitoring, customer service, and reporting.

B. Fee Presentation

  • At checkout, donors may see an option to “cover fees.” When selected, Mayekoo receives the full intended amount for regranting, and the added amount supports operational costs.

  • Fees are deducted prior to regranting if not covered by the donor.

  • In some campaigns, sponsors or corporate partners may offset these fees.

C. Illustrative Fee Ranges

While actual percentages vary, typical total fees (including 3rd party processing and compliance) generally range from 10%–12% for international regrants.

8. Refunds and Corrections

All donations are final and non-refundable. Exceptions apply only in cases of:

  • clear processing error (e.g., duplicate charge);

  • proven unauthorized transaction; or

  • legal obligation under state or federal law.

Refund requests must be submitted to hello@mayekoo.com within seven (7) days of donation. Once funds have entered a regrant batch, refunds are not possible.

9. Tax Receipts and Deductibility

  • Receipts: Mayekoo issues IRS-compliant receipts for all contributions.

  • Deductibility: U.S. taxpayers may claim deductions under Internal Revenue Code § 170. Non-U.S. donors should consult local authorities for potential recognition.

  • No Goods or Services: Unless explicitly stated, no goods or services are provided in exchange for donations.

  • Recordkeeping: Donors are responsible for maintaining records for tax filing.

10. Donor Recognition and Anonymity

Mayekoo may display donor names on campaign pages or acknowledgment materials. Donors may choose anonymity at checkout or by contacting hello@mayekoo.com Anonymous donors still receive receipts and full compliance screening.

We do not sell, rent, or share donor lists for commercial purposes.

11. Due Diligence and Compliance

Mayekoo employs a multi-layered due-diligence process including:

  • Automated Watchlist Screening (OFAC, EU, UN, UK, etc.);

  • Manual Document Review (registration, leadership, financials);

  • Continuous Monitoring (alerts for status changes or adverse media).

Where risk is identified, Mayekoo may:

  • delay or freeze a disbursement;

  • request additional documentation;

  • redirect funds; or

  • report to regulators or enforcement authorities if required.

12. International Transfers and Foreign Exchange

  • Currencies: Donations are typically processed in U.S. dollars (USD). Regrants may be converted into local currency using prevailing market rates at time of disbursement.

  • Fees: Intermediary and receiving banks may impose fees or conversion spreads beyond Mayekoo’s control.

  • Regulatory Controls: Mayekoo complies with all applicable export-control, sanctions, and anti-terrorism laws. Funds will not be transmitted to restricted jurisdictions or entities.

13. Restricted Causes and Excluded Activities

Mayekoo will not knowingly regrant funds to any organization or project that:

  • promotes violence, hate, or discrimination;

  • supports terrorist, criminal, or extremist activity;

  • engages in partisan political campaigning or lobbying;

  • misuses charitable funds for private benefit;

  • violates international humanitarian or human-rights norms.

Violation may result in suspension of funding, recovery actions, and reporting to relevant authorities.

14. Use of Funds by Grantees

All regrants must be used exclusively for charitable purposes consistent with the represented project or cause. Mayekoo requires basic reporting on outcomes, photos, or narratives.

If a Grantee misapplies funds, Mayekoo may:

  • demand repayment;

  • reallocate future disbursements;

  • report to regulators; and/or

  • permanently terminate partnership status.

15. Impact Reporting and Accountability

Transparency is core to our mission.
Mayekoo collects and publishes impact data including:

  • number of projects funded;

  • amounts distributed;

  • stories and testimonials from Grantees;

  • aggregated outcomes such as children educated, patients served, or tons of waste removed.

These reports may be shared on our website, in newsletters, and in our annual report.

16. Data Privacy and Security

  • Data Collection: We collect donor information necessary for receipts, compliance, and impact communication.

  • Use and Sharing: Data may be shared with payment processors, auditors, or regulators where required.

  • Storage: Data is stored securely in accordance with U.S. and international privacy laws.

  • Retention: Records are retained for at least seven (7) years or as required by law.

  • Rights: You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data by emailing hello@mayekoo.com

17. Communications with Donors

  • compliance-related inquiries (e.g., verification for large gifts).

You can unsubscribe from non-essential communications at any time via the unsubscribe link or by emailing hello@mayekoo.com
