Escola Primária Cornerstone
Cornerstone Primary School
In 2014, amid economic uncertainty and daunting sociopolitical challenges, the Cornerstone Pentecostal Church started Cornerstone Primary in the Kangemi Dam Slum on the outskirts of Nairobi, Kenya. Little did they know the enormous impact they would have in the community.
From day one, Cornerstone Primary’s doors were open to students and families from all walks of life, regardless of religious affiliation. The dream of inclusive education that began in 2014 has grown into a primary school for 60 students, and the faculty of 5 knows all students by name and continuously challenges them to reach their full potential. Cornerstone is committed to providing education through hands-on and intentional learning experiences, combining intellectual foundation, learning opportunities, and deep relationships to get students ready for the next level and hopefully a life outside of the slums.
