Help UniMAC Students Fight Period Poverty for 200 Girls

Organization name: Mayekoo

We are Level 300 Public Relations with Marketing students at the University of Media, Arts and Communication (UniMAC). Under the guidance of our lecturers, we are partnering with Mayekoo to raise $3,000 for its End Period Poverty Initiative. Our goal is to provide 200 adolescent girls at Children of God Community School with reusable sanitary pad starter kits and practical menstrual health education.

As communication and marketing students, we want to use our skills for more than classroom assignments. Through this campaign, we will use public relations, social media, fundraising and stakeholder engagement to mobilize support for girls who deserve to manage their periods safely, confidently and without shame.

Why This Matters

No girl should miss school or feel embarrassed simply because she is menstruating.

However, many girls face periods without reliable access to menstrual products, accurate information or the support they need to manage their menstrual health with confidence. This can affect their comfort, participation in school and self-esteem.

Period poverty is not only a health issue. It is also an education, dignity and equality issue.

By providing reusable sanitary pad kits and menstrual health education, we can help 200 girls manage their periods more safely and confidently. The reusable kits can also reduce the recurring cost of purchasing disposable products for girls and their families.

What Your Donation Will Support

The $3,000 raised through this campaign will help Mayekoo provide:

  • 200 reusable sanitary pad starter kits
  • Menstrual health and hygiene education
  • Guidance on the proper use and care of reusable pads
  • Educational materials and awareness resources
  • Transportation and project logistics
  • Community engagement and volunteer coordination
  • Project documentation and impact reporting

All donations will be received and managed by Mayekoo and directed to its End Period Poverty Initiative.

Mayekoo will procure the reusable pad kits, coordinate the education session and oversee project delivery to ensure that donor support reaches the intended beneficiaries and that the results are documented.

How We Will Participate

We are not only asking others to donate. We will contribute our own time, skills and networks to the campaign.

We will create and share campaign content, reach out to potential supporters and help raise awareness about period poverty. We will also participate in the project activities and help communicate the impact of the campaign.

This experience will allow us to apply what we are learning in public relations and marketing while supporting a real social need.

We also hope our campaign will encourage more young people to recognize that they can use their voices, professional skills and networks to help address challenges in their communities.

Help Us Support 200 Girls

We are asking our fellow students, lecturers, families, friends, alumni, businesses and supporters to help us reach our $3,000 goal.

Your donation will help give 200 girls access to reusable menstrual products, practical health education and the confidence to participate fully in school and daily life.

Every contribution brings us closer to reaching another girl.

You can also help by sharing this campaign with your family, friends, colleagues and social networks.

Donate today and help 200 girls manage their periods with dignity, confidence and support.

Transparency Promise

We pledge to uphold the highest standards of transparency and accountability. Every contribution will be diligently tracked, with regular updates on our progress and detailed reports on how your donations are making a difference.
