About this project
The initial phase at Chorkor focused on waste mapping, stockpiling, and consolidation with heavy machinery: over 1,000 metric tons identified and stockpiled along the shoreline. Despite weather and access challenges, approximately 33 metric tons of waste and 130 kg of plastic have been removed to date — with significant stockpiled waste scheduled for removal as part of Mayekoo's ongoing restoration activities. This effort has brought 300+ volunteers to help cleanup this beach.
