Help Build Tenashie’s Creative Space and Library

A festival can fill a street for one night. Children need places to create for the other 364 days.

That contrast is what makes this fundraiser different.

At Tenashie, interest is not the problem. Children already show up for reading, art and school clubs. The problem is continuity: finding a room, keeping books and materials organized, replacing supplies when they run out, and giving committed volunteers enough resources to keep coming back.

Ako Adjei Lit Up has spent years bringing artists, businesses, neighbors and visitors together around community culture. This campaign takes that same energy and puts something permanent behind it at the school.

The goal is a dedicated creative space and library where books can stay on shelves, art materials can last beyond a single workshop, the environmental club can store its tools, and weekly programming has a home.

The festival can open the door. This fundraiser is about what children walk back into the following Thursday—and every week after that.

Consistency turns an activity into part of school life.

When children know reading club happens on a certain day, in a certain place, with books they can actually use, participation becomes a habit. The same is true for art and environmental activities.

A dependable space gives teachers, artists and volunteers something to build on week after week.

School clubs often fail for ordinary reasons.

A classroom is unavailable. Books have nowhere to live. Paper and paint run out. Tools cannot be stored safely. Volunteers may be ready to give their time, but the program still needs a dependable physical base and enough materials to function.

Interest alone cannot solve those operating problems.

Donations support three connected needs: space, materials and programming.

Funds may support preparation of a dedicated creative/library area, shelving and book storage, a growing book collection, art supplies, environmental-club tools and storage, and the recurring materials that allow clubs to operate consistently.

Ako Adjei Lit Up brings community and artist participation; Mayekoo supports the fundraiser and delivery/accountability structure with the school and partners.
