Support WuLove & Bring Clean Water to Samburu Girls in Kenya
WuLove Foundation is a registered charity based in Nairobi, Kenya working to uplift girls and women in marginalized communities through education, health, and empowerment programs.
Right now, we’re focused on one powerful mission: bringing clean, sustainable water to a girls’ secondary school in the arid region of Samburu, Kenya.
In a place where rain is rare and wells are distant, these young students face daily challenges — not just with learning, but with dignity. Without reliable access to water, they struggle to stay healthy, maintain hygiene, or even have enough to eat. The school’s resilience is inspiring, but their need is urgent.
We are raising $40,000 to drill a solar-powered borehole, build a water storage system, and establish a kitchen garden to support both hygiene and nutrition. This will allow girls to focus on their education — not on how or where they’ll find their next drop of water.
The Challenges
Imagine going to school and not having water to drink. No way to wash. No bathroom that’s sanitary. That is the reality for girls in Samburu. Every day, they wake up and face a barrier to learning that most of us never have to think about — the absence of clean water.
Many girls miss school due to waterborne illnesses, infections, and inadequate hygiene during menstruation. Others are forced to spend hours fetching water instead of studying — placing their safety and education at risk. For a boarding school, this becomes a cycle of daily hardship.
The school also lacks the ability to grow its own food. Without irrigation, their land remains dry and unused, and they depend entirely on external, inconsistent food donations. Malnutrition and poor diet further weaken the girls’ ability to concentrate and thrive.
Why It Matters
Water is not a luxury. It’s survival. It’s health. It’s education. It’s dignity.
When girls don’t have access to clean water, they lose far more than hydration — they lose confidence, classroom time, and their right to a safe and empowering learning environment.
This initiative is not just about fixing a problem. It’s about shifting an entire ecosystem from scarcity to sustainability. With reliable water, these girls can:
-
Stay in school during their periods.
-
Wash safely and confidently.
-
Eat nourishing, homegrown food.
-
Learn agricultural skills that empower future livelihoods.
-
Focus on their futures without fear or shame.
Water doesn’t just quench thirst. It fuels dreams.
Solution
With your generous support, WuLove Foundation will deploy an integrated water and nutrition solution for the girls’ school in Samburu. Here’s how the $40,000 will be used:
- Hydrogeological Survey: To identify the best location for drilling.
- Drilling of Borehole: A deep borehole to tap into sustainable underground water sources.
- Solar-Powered Pump: To ensure the system runs sustainably and cost-effectively.
- Water Storage Tank: To collect and preserve safe water for daily use.
- Irrigation System & Kitchen Garden: To grow vegetables for the school’s meals and teach students practical skills.
- Hygiene and Sanitation Improvements: Ensuring water access reaches dormitories, toilets, and handwashing stations.
This project is about building resilience. It’s a path toward safer schooling, better health, and stronger girls. With your help, we’ll build not just a water system — but a future full of hope and possibility.
From every girl whose life you’ll touch — thank you. Your support isn’t just changing a school; it’s rewriting stories. You are helping them rise with dignity, one drop at a time.
