Support KARIBS Foundation to Empower Girls with Sanitary Pads and Education
KARIBS Foundation is a registered and licensed nonprofit, non-governmental organization operating across Ghana. Our core areas of focus include education, health, the environment, empowerment, and livelihood support. We are affiliated with several key networks such as the Civil Society Organization Platform on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Coalition of NGOs in Water and Sanitation, and the Voluntary Work Camps Association of Ghana.
Our flagship initiative, the Female Dignity Project, is designed to reduce school absenteeism among girls by providing over 1,000,000 sanitary pads across Ghana. This effort ensures that girls can attend school during their menstrual cycles, helping them maintain consistent academic participation and build confidence in themselves.
The Challenges
Currently, the Foundation is facing severe resource constraints that have slowed progress on many of our projects. The aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic drastically affected donor support and volunteer engagement, making it difficult for us to sustain our outreach and operations. These challenges have impacted our ability to procure sanitary pads in bulk and reach communities in need. As a result, many girls continue to miss school during their periods, which undermines our core mission of education and empowerment.
Why It Matters
Funding this project is critical to our ability to resume large-scale outreach and distribution of sanitary pads to girls in rural and underserved areas. With the support of this fundraiser, we can engage our vendors to ensure the steady supply of menstrual hygiene products, promote community involvement, and fulfill our commitment to keep girls in school.
This initiative also contributes directly to the advancement of global priorities such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the African Union Agenda 2063. By ensuring that girls can manage their periods with dignity and stay in school, we are not only improving their individual futures but also uplifting their communities as a whole.
Solution
We are offering a simple but powerful keep girls in school during their menstrual cycles by providing them with essential sanitary products. This approach helps boost school attendance among girls in rural communities while improving their confidence, dignity, and long-term educational outcomes.
Our goal is to continue distributing over one million sanitary pads, increase awareness about menstrual health, and empower girls to pursue their dreams without barriers. By supporting the KARIBS Foundation, you are investing in the education, health, and empowerment of young girls across Ghana.
