Support Goal Women Africa's Beyond the classroom project
Goal Women Africa (GWA) is dedicated to addressing the pervasive issue of women feeling unheard and undervalued in society due to gender-based stereotypes. Our initiative seeks to challenge these outdated perceptions and promote inclusivity and participation for women in all aspects of life.
Our primary objective is to empower women by providing access to programs and resources that enhance their skills and expertise. We aim to foster leadership qualities among women and offer mentorship opportunities to facilitate their professional growth.
Through our annual mentorship program, we equip women with leadership and career development skills to excel in their businesses and pursue online wealth creation. Additionally, we have established a supportive women's community where members can network and advance their social, political, and professional aspirations.
While our focus remains on women, we are committed to using our platform to advocate for gender equality and encourage society to recognize the importance of giving women the opportunity to break free from entrenched stereotypes.
The Challenges
Across Nigeria, thousands of bright and ambitious girls are facing an unexpected setback—the inability to sit for the 2025 JAMB exams due to financial constraints. These girls, whose parents struggle to meet basic household expenses, now face an uncertain future. Without JAMB, their dreams of entering university and securing a brighter future are slipping away.
Why it matters
Without meaningful intervention, many young girls face a future shaped by limitation and loss. Early marriage becomes a common path, as families—desperate and lacking alternatives—often choose to marry off their daughters far too soon. With little or no access to continuous education, these girls are more vulnerable to unwanted pregnancies, further derailing their chances of building a stable and empowered life. Their career options become narrowly confined to informal or low-paying labor, severely limiting their earning potential and long-term opportunities. In the process, countless dreams are lost, and the nation is deprived of future leaders, innovators, and professionals who could have contributed meaningfully to Nigeria’s growth and progress.
Solution
To protect vulnerable girls from falling into cycles of lifelong hardship, we propose the Future-Ready Girls Initiative—a one-year empowerment program designed to keep them actively engaged in education, equip them with relevant skills, and prepare them thoroughly for the 2026 JAMB examination.
This initiative has four key components:
1. JAMB Preparation and Registration for 2026
Girls enrolled in the program will receive intensive coaching to excel in the JAMB exams. All associated costs—including registration fees, study materials, and practice resources—will be fully covered to ensure that no financial barrier stands in their way.
2. Skill Development and Tech Knowledge
Participants will be trained in essential digital and technical skills such as coding, graphic design, digital marketing, and basic programming. In addition, they will gain hands-on experience in practical, sustainable career paths like fashion design, baking, and upcycling crafts—giving them a well-rounded foundation in both digital and vocational skills.
3. Financial Literacy and Income Generation
The girls will be taught the fundamentals of financial management, including how to save, plan, and make responsible earning decisions. With guidance, they will explore simple income-generating activities to support their education, empowering them to contribute to their future without compromising their learning.
4. Mentorship and Guidance
Each participant will be matched with a dedicated mentor who will offer support in academic, career, and personal development.
