The Challenges

Each morning in Ga South, hundreds of public-school students—and many teachers—begin a three-kilometer or longer walk to class.

• Many set out before sunrise, often without breakfast.
• They arrive tired, dehydrated, and distracted, which directly hurts their ability to learn.
• Teachers face the same struggle or spend precious income on daily transport.

During our outreach visits, students and school heads consistently plead for one thing: safe, reliable transportation.
Without it, attendance drops, teachers lose valuable energy, and academic performance suffers—perpetuating the cycle of poverty.

Solution

Our immediate goal is to raise USD 30,000 to purchase, operate, and maintain two 30-seat school buses dedicated to Ga South’s public-school students and teachers.

Phase 1 – Purchase & Insurance
Secure two durable buses and cover registration and insurance.

Phase 2 – Daily Operations
Establish strategic pick-up and drop-off points to ensure safe, on-time transport each morning and afternoon.

Phase 3 – Maintenance & Expansion
Cover fuel, driver salaries, and preventive maintenance to guarantee sustainability.
When the Ga South pilot succeeds, we will replicate this model in other regions of Ghana, creating a national framework for public-school transportation.
