Join Women Relief Aid in Fighting Hunger in Nyong Payam, South Sudan
Women Relief Aid (WRA) is a registered, women-led nonprofit based in Juba, South Sudan (Company Registration No: 4076, Tax ID No: 4076-WRA). Founded by a courageous group of young women, WRA responds to the immediate and long-term needs of vulnerable women, girls, and children across South Sudan.
From grassroots education and WASH programs to emergency relief and legal advocacy, we are committed to restoring dignity and opportunity to those devastated by conflict, displacement, and poverty. Our projects prioritize community leadership, female empowerment, and resilience building—especially in rural and conflict-affected regions.
The Challenges
In Nyong Payam – Torit County, climate-driven disasters and ongoing conflict have decimated food production—the backbone of South Sudan’s economy and survival. This has led to:
-
Skyrocketing food prices
-
Severe child malnutrition and hunger
-
Young mothers without income or access to safe, healthy food
-
High school drop-out rates driven by hunger and poverty
The entire community is in crisis, especially women and children, who suffer the brunt of food insecurity, undernutrition, and lack of sustainable livelihoods.
What used to be fertile, abundant farmland has turned into a daily fight for survival. But with the right tools and support, this soil still holds promise.
Why It Matters
This campaign will breathe life back into the land—while uplifting the women and children who depend on it.
The Mother & Child Garden Project isn’t just about vegetables. It’s about:
-
Mothers who can grow, sell, and sustain their families
-
Children who return to school because they’re no longer too hungry to learn
-
Local gardens that feed entire communities, improve nutrition, and reduce reliance on emergency food aid
-
A future where families are resilient, self-sufficient, and hopeful
In a place where food is life and agriculture is power, your donation is a seed of liberation.
The Solution
Diversify Crop Production
We will train young women in climate-smart agriculture and introduce diverse crops that thrive in changing weather conditions, ensuring higher yields and better nutrition.
Increase Household Income
Through garden cooperatives, women will sell surplus vegetables, create micro-enterprises, and reinvest earnings into education, savings, and health care for their children.
Improve Nutrition & Food Security
The gardens will supply fresh vegetables to local families and schools, drastically improving diets and reducing stunting and micronutrient deficiencies in young children.
This isn’t just a growing season. It’s the start of lasting change—rooted in empowerment and driven by women.
Transparency Promise
We pledge to uphold the highest standards of transparency and accountability. Every contribution will be diligently tracked, with regular updates on our progress and detailed reports on how your donations are making a difference.
