Today, our mission has taken on new urgency. The community of Totope is in the middle of a deadly cholera outbreak, and without immediate intervention, many more lives are at risk.

The Challenges

Totope’s crisis highlights the devastating impact of lacking reliable water systems:

• Cholera Outbreak: 37 confirmed cases have already been reported, and 3 people have tragically lost their lives.

• Overstretched Health Facilities: The local clinic is at capacity, with some patients treated at home due to lack of space and resources.

• Unsafe Water Access: Without clean, reliable sources, families are forced to use contaminated water that fuels the spread of disease.

This is not just an inconvenience it is a public health emergency. The outbreak is spreading rapidly, and each day without safe water risks more lives being lost.

Why It Matters

The children, families, and elderly in Totope deserve more than survival—they deserve safety, dignity, and health.

Solution 

We are urgently raising USD 6,000 to provide a sustainable safe water system for Totope:

• Install an overhead water storage tank to hold and distribute clean, treated water.

• Create safe distribution points so every family can access reliable drinking water.

• Supply basic medical needs to support ongoing treatment of cholera patients until the outbreak is contained.
