Heal and Empower Mbita’s Elderly and Youth: Support Care and Education

Our team has led workshops, poultry farming initiatives, and community outreach programs to support vulnerable groups. Today, we are turning to the global community to support two urgent needs: elderly care and educational support for orphans and underprivileged university students.

The Challenges

Our community is facing growing challenges in health and education:

• Elderly Health Crisis: One of our members, aged 70, suffered a stroke in 2022. Many other elders in our area live with chronic illnesses and disabilities but have no access to physical therapy or professional care.

• Educational Barriers: We support orphans and financially vulnerable students who regularly struggle to pay school and university fees. Many are at risk of dropping out entirely.

We envision a long-term solution, but without funding, these challenges continue to deepen and harm the most vulnerable in our community.

The Solution

• Purchase Elderly Home Care Equipment: Including physiotherapy tools, mobility aids, and essential medical supplies to support aging members.

• Support Ongoing Education: Provide tuition assistance and school supplies for orphans and low-income university students.

Long-Term Goals:

• Establish a Physiotherapy Center: A dedicated space where elderly community members can access regular, professional care.

• Sustain Scholarship Support: Develop a reliable, locally-managed fund to continue supporting education for orphans and vulnerable youth.

• Empower the Community: Train caregivers, engage local youth volunteers, and host health and education awareness sessions.
