The Challenges

Accra faces a growing crisis of streetism, with over 90,000 children living on its streets. These children face daily struggles:

• Hunger and malnutrition – little access to regular meals.

• Illiteracy – most cannot afford schooling.

• Health risks – untreated illnesses and no access to medical care.

• Exploitation – exposure to abuse, trafficking, and forced labor.

• Loss of childhood – children are forced into survival instead of play and learning.

Streetism not only robs children of their dignity but also undermines Ghana’s future, as 1.2 million children nationwide remain out of school.

Why It Matters 

Your support for the Street Care Project will provide:

1. Basic Needs Relief – Nutritious meals, clean water, and clothing for dignity and survival.

2. Education Access – School fees, uniforms, and supplies so children can learn, read, and break the cycle of poverty.

Solution

With $5,000, YPF Africa will:

• Provide immediate relief (food, clean water, clothing) to 50–100 children annually.

• Enroll children in schools by covering fees, uniforms, and supplies.

• Deliver vocational training workshops to prepare youth for independent livelihoods.

• Fund regular health checkups and vaccinations to keep children safe.

• Launch family reunification programs and awareness campaigns to protect kids from exploitation.

• Use data-driven methods to track progress and ensure resources reach the most vulnerable.
