Donate to Youths Pioneering a Future Africa – Bringing Education and Care to Ghana’s Street Kids
Youths Pioneering a Future Africa (YPF Africa) is a registered NGO in Ghana, formerly the Young Philanthropists Foundation Africa. YPF is a youth-driven movement committed to empowering young people to create sustainable, transformative change across Africa.
At its core, YPF uplifts the vulnerable, supports the needy, and fosters community development through education, healthcare, economic empowerment, and environmental initiatives. Volunteers gain leadership skills, hands-on experience, and the tools to build stronger communities while contributing to Africa’s future.
Through inclusive, innovative projects, YPF connects young philanthropists, mentors, and communities to drive long-term impact. Our mission is simple but powerful: to build a better tomorrow by empowering today’s youth to act with purpose.
The Challenges
Accra faces a growing crisis of streetism, with over 90,000 children living on its streets. These children face daily struggles:
-
Hunger and malnutrition – little access to regular meals.
-
Illiteracy – most cannot afford schooling.
-
Health risks – untreated illnesses and no access to medical care.
-
Exploitation – exposure to abuse, trafficking, and forced labor.
-
Loss of childhood – children are forced into survival instead of play and learning.
Streetism not only robs children of their dignity but also undermines Ghana’s future, as 1.2 million children nationwide remain out of school.
Why It Matters
Your support for the Street Care Project will provide:
-
Basic Needs Relief – Nutritious meals, clean water, and clothing for dignity and survival.
-
Education Access – School fees, uniforms, and supplies so children can learn, read, and break the cycle of poverty.
-
Healthcare Services – Vaccinations, medical checkups, and treatment to protect children’s health.
-
Vocational Training – Skills workshops in tailoring, carpentry, and other trades to equip youth for sustainable livelihoods.
-
Family Reunification – Outreach to reconnect children with families, reducing exposure to street dangers.
-
Protection from Exploitation – Awareness and advocacy campaigns to prevent abuse and trafficking.
-
Targeted Support – Data collection to identify and prioritize the most vulnerable children, ensuring impact is strategic and measurable.
These efforts change lives. Children like Kwame, who once sold goods at Accra’s intersections, gain the chance to trade survival for opportunity, learning, and safety.
Solution
With $5,000, YPF Africa will:
-
Provide immediate relief (food, clean water, clothing) to 50–100 children annually.
-
Enroll children in schools by covering fees, uniforms, and supplies.
-
Deliver vocational training workshops to prepare youth for independent livelihoods.
-
Fund regular health checkups and vaccinations to keep children safe.
-
Launch family reunification programs and awareness campaigns to protect kids from exploitation.
-
Use data-driven methods to track progress and ensure resources reach the most vulnerable.
By addressing both urgent needs and long-term solutions, this project empowers children to reclaim their childhoods and build a future of opportunity.
Thank you for being part of the fight against streetism in Ghana. Your generosity means food, education, and safety for children who have been denied the chance to dream. Together, we are not just meeting needs—we are restoring childhoods, reuniting families, and building a brighter future. Medaase (Thank you) from YPF Africa and the children whose lives you are transforming.
