The Kinyabalanga-Nyamizi Association, based in San Sebastián, Spain, is a nonprofit organization that for over 20 years has supported more than 5,000 vulnerable children, women, and men living in extreme poverty on the remote islands of Kinyabalanga, Nyamizi, and Irhe in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo.

With a strong commitment to human dignity, community empowerment, and sustainable change, we focus on delivering basic education, healthcare, food security, clean water, and reforestation—one step at a time. Our support is ongoing, direct, and deeply community-rooted.

We are raising $5,000 to continue and expand this life-changing work across the islands.

The Challenges

In these isolated communities, survival is an everyday struggle:

  • Children lack schools—some have never held a book or entered a classroom

  • Women give birth without medical assistance, and basic illnesses go untreated due to lack of clinics and medicine

  • Drinking water is unsafe, and waterborne diseases are common

  • Families face hunger, with limited access to farmland or protein sources

  • Deforestation has left the islands exposed, degrading soil and destroying habitats

These are not temporary setbacks—they are systemic hardships that have persisted for generations. But with small, strategic interventions, we can create powerful change.

Why It Matters

This campaign is about the right to live with dignity.

  • A child attending school for the first time

  • A mother giving birth with a nurse by her side

  • A community harvesting vegetables on shared land

  • An island re-greened with trees for future generations

  • A family drinking clean water from a solar-powered pump

These are not luxuries—they are basic human needs that this fundraiser will help provide.

The Solution

In addition to providing that needed assistance year to year (especially in education, healthcare, and food), our NGO strives to foster new projects that gradually make their daily lives less difficult and give them a reason to live and a meaning to their lives. With your support, the Kinyabalanga-Nyamizi Association will:

1. Expand Access to Education

  • Build and equip schools on each island

  • Pay qualified teachers

  • Support both children and adults in pursuing primary and secondary education

2. Deliver Essential Healthcare

  • Build modest health centers

  • Purchase medicine and pay nurses

  • Facilitate medical access using a boat to transport staff and supplies

  • Provide outpatient care for all three islands

3. Secure Access to Clean Water & Nutrition

  • Install windmills and water systems to deliver safe drinking water

  • Construct communal canteens

  • Purchase agricultural plots and livestock (e.g., chickens)

  • Train locals in sustainable farming

4. Reforest and Restore the Environment

  • Replant trees to combat erosion and climate vulnerability

  • Create green corridors for food and ecosystem stability

Our goal is to raise $5,000. This funding will jumpstart new projects and help maintain our annual support systems for the island communities.

From the shores of Kinyabalanga to the fields of Nyamizi, your support is a lifeline. You are not just donating—you are standing in solidarity with families who have been forgotten for too long. Thank you for giving hope, health, and a future.

Transparency Promise

We pledge to uphold the highest standards of transparency and accountability. Every contribution will be diligently tracked, with regular updates on our progress and detailed reports on how your donations are making a difference.
