The Challenges

In Togo, small organizations like FresVie face numerous systemic hurdles. Corruption often delays or blocks access to essential permits and resources, limiting their ability to implement projects smoothly. Additionally, the lack of financial stability prevents FresVie from hiring a full-time team, restricting the scale and continuity of their impact.

A pressing issue they aim to tackle now is the lack of access to basic school supplies for children in the villages of Kodzo and Havé. Many families in these areas cannot afford essential educational tools, and as a result, countless children are at risk of dropping out of school due to economic hardship and lack of motivation.

Why It Matters

This fundraiser will directly benefit 60 schoolchildren in Kodzo (primary school) and Havé (secondary school). These children face the dual challenge of poverty and distance—some walking up to 6 kilometers daily to attend school. Without adequate supplies like backpacks, pens, pencils, notebooks, and paper, their academic journey is fraught with obstacles.

Providing these school kits will not only ease the financial burden on families but also empower children to stay in school, improve their performance, and aspire to brighter futures. The ripple effects include higher school retention rates, increased community morale, and the long-term benefit of nurturing educated youth who can contribute meaningfully to society.

Solution

FresVie’s immediate goal is to raise $2,500 to purchase and distribute 60 complete school supply kits for students in Kodzo and Havé before the new school year begins.

Each kit includes:

• A durable school bag
• Pens and pencils
• Paper
• Notebooks

The funds will cover both the cost of materials and logistics for delivery. The FresVie team will also monitor the students' attendance and academic progress throughout the school year to assess impact and provide additional support where needed.
