The Challenges

Imagine life without electricity—no lights after sunset, no way to charge a phone, and no reliable source of power for basic needs. This is the daily reality for families in Choto Rural Area. Children study by candlelight or not at all. Families cook over open fires with no modern conveniences. Lack of electricity limits opportunity, health, education, and safety.
Yet, the solution is within reach: solar energy—renewable, reliable, and safe. The challenge? Funding. Fornitrix needs capital to purchase solar panels and lanterns and to cover installation costs. Without your help, these homes will remain in the dark.

Why It Matters

In Choto and many other rural communities in Zimbabwe, families live without access to reliable electricity. When the sun sets, darkness brings challenges children struggle to study by dim candlelight, families rely on dangerous kerosene lamps, and the absence of power limits economic activities, health care access, and security. This energy poverty traps families in a cycle of hardship, limiting educational achievement, income opportunities, and overall quality of life.

Solution

Our goal is to light up 300 rural homes in Choto with solar energy by December 2025. The funds raised will help us purchase and install solar panels and lanterns, providing clean, safe, and reliable electricity to families who currently live in darkness.

Specifically, the money will be used to:

• Buy solar panels, lanterns, and batteries
• Cover transport and installation costs
• Train local technicians for maintenance and support
