Enroute54 Foundation is a nonprofit organization based in Accra, Ghana, dedicated to empowering youth in underserved communities through education, gender equality, and water & sanitation initiatives. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive regardless of their background.

At Enroute54 Foundation, we believe no girl should fall behind simply because she menstruates. Our flagship project, the Red Dot Initiative, is a bold response to period poverty. We aim to provide each girl with a reusable menstrual hygiene kit and a five-part education program that equips her with the knowledge, confidence, and dignity to thrive—at school and beyond. Our mission is to break down the barriers that hinder access to education and dignity, especially for girls.

In Accra’s underserved neighborhoods, adolescent girls are missing school—not because they lack ambition, but because they lack pads. With your support, we’re raising $7,000 to reach 400 girls in low-income schools with sustainable menstrual care and holistic education.

This is more than a hygiene intervention—it's a movement to break the silence, end school absenteeism, and empower girls to stay in charge of their bodies and their futures.

The Challenges

Despite growing awareness, menstrual health continues to be a silent barrier for adolescent girls in low-income communities across Ghana. The girls we support face:

  • Lack of access to sanitary products

  • Inadequate education about menstrual health

  • Cultural stigma and taboos that silence conversations

  • Poor sanitation facilities in schools

These issues contribute to frequent school absenteeism, low self-esteem, and long-term academic setbacks. Many girls use unsafe alternatives like old cloth or paper, risking infections and humiliation. Without intervention, these challenges keep girls behind simply because they menstruate.

Why It Matters

Menstrual hygiene is not a luxury it’s a basic right that affects health, education, and opportunity. Through this initiative, we will provide 400 adolescent girls with reusable menstrual hygiene kits and access to a five-session educational program on menstrual health, self-care, and confidence-building.

By addressing both the physical and social challenges of menstruation, we can:

  • Keep girls in school

  • Improve their health and confidence

  • Challenge harmful cultural taboos

  • Lighten the financial burden on families

Your support means a girl can attend school with dignity and focus on her future not her period.

Our Solution

With the funds we raise, Enroute54 Foundation will:

  • Distribute 400 reusable menstrual hygiene kits, each including reusable pads, a pouch, and a period tracker

  • Deliver a five-session menstrual health curriculum in selected underserved schools

  • Train local female facilitators to lead the sessions in a safe, girl-centered environment

  • Monitor and evaluate the impact to ensure long-term sustainability

  • Engage communities to promote menstrual dignity and challenge harmful norms

Each kit provides up to 4 years of safe, sustainable menstrual care protecting health, saving money, and reducing waste.

This fundraiser will help us raise $7,000 to support 400 girls directly and create a ripple effect of awareness, empowerment, and lasting change in their communities.Your contribution isn’t just about pads it’s about equity, opportunity, and dignity.

By supporting the Red Dot Initiative, you’re helping ensure that no girl is held back because of her period.

Transparency Promise

We pledge to uphold the highest standards of transparency and accountability. Every contribution will be diligently tracked, with regular updates on our progress and detailed reports on how your donations are making a difference.
