The Crox It Out campaign is MX24's call to action towards raising awareness and tackling Breast Cancer in Ghana. In the last three years we’ve run this campaign successfully on air, online and on the ground; encouraging women to prioritise breast cancer screening. Through this campaign we’ve been able to reach over 1,000,000 women across our TV and digital platforms, and successfully screened 16,500 in Accra, Kumasi and the Eastern region.

We believe If early detection saves lives, then early sensitisation could do twice as much. In line with this we’ve taken our Breast Cancer awareness campaign to more high schools across the country.

We’re looking to educate the next generation of women, who in turn would spread the word to mothers, friends and relatives. Our Highschool tour will makes stops across the country, offering inspiring pep talks, breast cancer screening and education, amazing giveaways & concerts to help engage and spread the word.

The Challenges

One primary challenge is the limited funds available to extend our reach to more remote high schools where awareness, screening and treatment are critically needed. The cost of including screening at each campus is quite high so we’ve focused more on education through demonstrations and first hand survival stories.

There is the profound need for continuous education and engagement to build a foundation of awareness from a young age, equipping young women to become advocates for health within their own communities.

To address these challenges and enhance our campaign, the funds raised will be strategically used to include actual breast screening exercise for each young female student during our tour stops. We’ll be able to expand our fleet of mobile screening units and to train additional healthcare professionals in breast cancer awareness and early detection techniques. 

Moreover, a significant portion of the funds will support organising more educational and engaging events in these high schools nationwide. These will include pep talks, screenings, and interactive sessions, all crucial for maintaining engagement and ensuring the message of early detection spreads far and wide. With the funds we’ll also be able to fund treatment and the surgeries that identified people may have to undergo.

The Solution

With your support, we aim to raise $10,000 to expand the Crox It Out Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign. This will allow us to:

  • Increase the number of mobile screening units, enabling us to offer breast cancer screenings at every high school we visit.
  • Train more healthcare professionals in early detection and breast cancer awareness to join our campaign.
  • Organize educational events, workshops, and concerts to keep young women engaged and inspired throughout our high school tour.
  • Fund treatment and surgeries for students or women identified during our campaign as needing further medical attention.
