Support practical menstrual health solutions that improve daily life, dignity, and opportunity.
Mayekoo supports practical, dignity-centered menstrual health solutions that help girls and young women move through daily life with greater confidence and support. We focus on tangible responses such as menstrual products, reusable pad initiatives, menstrual health education, and school- or community-based support. We believe donors should be able to support work that is grounded, visible, and tied to real improvements in daily life — not just awareness.
Menstrual product support
We help fund menstrual pads, basic supplies, and practical support girls and young women can use right away — reducing the daily stress and disruption that period poverty creates.
Reusable pad initiatives
We support local partners producing and distributing reusable pads that provide longer-term menstrual health support — reducing ongoing cost and increasing access in settings where disposable products are hard to maintain.
Menstrual health education
We help fund practical education that reduces stigma, builds confidence, and helps girls and young women manage menstruation with greater dignity, knowledge, and support from their communities.
School- and community-based support
We support pad access, private WASH facilities, and other school- or community-based infrastructure and support that help girls and young women move through daily life with greater dignity, stability, and confidence.
Practical support starts with understanding the real barrier.
Before supporting a dignity-focused project, Mayekoo looks at what kind of support is missing, how girls and young women are affected, what delivery model makes sense, what trusted local partners can provide, and how the work can be carried out respectfully and effectively.
We evaluate:
- Immediate product needs
- School-based and community-based delivery contexts
- Education and stigma-reduction needs
- Privacy, dignity, and WASH considerations
- Local partner capacity and cultural fit
- Practical sustainability of the support model
The goal is not only distribution. It is dignity.
A stronger menstrual health response should help girls and young women access support they can actually use, reduce monthly stress and stigma, and move through school or daily life with greater confidence, stability, and dignity. Success means fewer missed school days, less daily disruption, and girls showing up knowing they have what they need.
Support practical solutions that reduce the burden of period poverty.
Our goal is to show the work, not just describe it. You should be able to see where Mayekoo is supporting dignity-centered menstrual health work, what has already been completed, what comes next, and how progress is being shared through updates, photos, and reporting from the ground.
Help Mayekoo support menstrual health work that strengthens dignity, confidence, and daily life for girls and young women across Africa.
