Amazing Girls Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Senya-Beraku, Ghana, dedicated to advancing menstrual equity and fighting period poverty. The foundation produces and distributes reusable sanitary pads to underserved communities while promoting menstrual education to break the stigma surrounding menstruation. Our mission is clear: to turn periods into pathways by ensuring that every girl and woman has access to the menstrual products and education they need for healthier, empowered lives.

The Challenge

In Ghana’s rural communities, period poverty remains a significant challenge. Many girls and women lack access to menstrual products and the necessary education to manage their periods hygienically. This limitation not only affects their health but also their ability to attend school or work consistently. The stigma and cultural taboos surrounding menstruation further exacerbate the issue, leading to shame and isolation.

At Amazing Girls Foundation, we believe no girl should miss school or lose opportunities due to a lack of menstrual products. However, our ability to produce and distribute reusable sanitary pads, along with delivering menstrual education, is currently limited by funding constraints. Addressing this challenge is vital to fulfilling our mission of combating period poverty and creating period dignity for all.

Why It Matters

Period poverty impacts health, education, and economic opportunities, perpetuating cycles of inequality. Girls without access to menstrual products miss critical days of school each month, affecting their academic performance and future prospects. Women facing period poverty struggle to maintain steady employment. By providing reusable sanitary pads and menstrual education, we can ensure girls stay in school, women thrive at work, and communities break free from the stigma and limitations of menstruation.

Your support will allow us to:

  • Reach more rural communities with menstrual products.
  • Deliver education to break stigmas around menstruation.
  • Promote sustainable, reusable products that are both eco-friendly and cost-effective.

The Solution

The "Empower Her Days" initiative aims to raise $2,500 to:

  • Produce and distribute reusable sanitary pads to girls and women in rural communities.
  • Conduct comprehensive menstrual education programs in schools and communities to foster understanding and reduce stigma.
  • Provide clean, private restrooms in schools and public places equipped with water, soap, and proper disposal methods for menstrual products.

Transparency Promise

We pledge to uphold the highest standards of transparency and accountability. Every contribution will be diligently tracked, with regular updates on our progress and detailed reports on how your donations are making a difference.
