African Solidarity Campaign (AfriSoC) is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) based in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, dedicated to promoting peace, gender equality, and economic empowerment. We work to combat violence against women and children, discourage racial discrimination and xenophobia, and foster social cohesion in communities.

Our current focus is to empower 20 young women, many from child-headed households, by providing them with vocational training that will help them secure stable livelihoods and improve their economic independence. These young women face numerous challenges in accessing education and employment, but through our Empower Young Women, Enrich their Future campaign, we can help change that.

Our goal is to raise $5,000 (R100,000) over the next 30 days to cover the costs of vocational training for these women. Each woman requires $250 (R5,000) to cover registration fees, course materials, bus fares, and mentorship programs.

The Challenges

The young women we are working with come from disadvantaged backgrounds, often taking on the responsibility of supporting their families due to circumstances beyond their control. Without access to education or employment opportunities, they are caught in cycles of poverty, with limited options for improving their lives.

By providing vocational training in fields like fashion design, we aim to equip them with the skills they need to break free from these cycles. However, the cost of training, materials, and transportation presents a significant financial barrier.

Why It Matters

By investing in these 20 young women, you are investing in the future of entire communities. Empowering women through education and skills development has a ripple effect, as they are more likely to invest in their families, start businesses, and contribute to local economies.

This campaign is about more than just vocational training—it’s about breaking the cycle of poverty, promoting gender equality, and building stronger, more resilient communities.

The Solution

With your help, AfriSoC can provide 20 young women with access to vocational training that will transform their futures. Here's how your donation will make a difference:

  • Vocational Training: Enroll the young women in a 3-month Fashion Design Course at AfriSoC Vocational Training Facility (AVTF).
  • Mentorship Program: Pair each young woman with a successful female professional for guidance, support, and networking.
  • Essential Supplies: Provide course materials, bus fares, and registration fees so the women can fully participate in the training.
  • Safe Spaces: Create regular community dialogues where young women can share their experiences, challenges, and successes.

Through this program, these women will gain the skills, confidence, and resources they need to start their own businesses, create jobs, and become economically independent. This not only improves their individual prospects but also benefits their families and communities.

Transparency Promise

We pledge to uphold the highest standards of transparency and accountability. Every contribution will be diligently tracked, with regular updates on our progress and detailed reports on how your donations are making a difference.
