The Challenges

UVDA-Liberia is committed to driving positive change, but we face several pressing challenges that hinder our mission. The foremost issue is the lack of adequate funding, which limits our ability to expand and sustain our programs across Liberia, Guinea, and Burkina Faso. This financial shortfall impacts our three critical pillars: education, health, and agriculture.

Education

Many schools in our target regions lack essential resources, such as textbooks, school supplies, and adequate facilities. This scarcity hinders students' learning experiences and academic performance. Additionally, without sufficient scholarships and support, numerous deserving students are unable to continue their education, perpetuating the cycle of poverty.

Health

Healthcare challenges are equally daunting. Many communities lack access to basic health services and preventive care. This gap leads to high rates of preventable diseases and maternal and child mortality. Our health programs, which provide medical outreach and health education, are constrained by limited resources, preventing us from reaching the most vulnerable populations.

Agriculture

Agricultural development is crucial for food security and economic stability, yet many farmers lack the training and resources to adopt modern, sustainable farming practices. This results in low crop yields and economic hardship for rural families. Our initiatives to promote sustainable agriculture are hampered by insufficient funds, restricting our capacity to provide necessary tools, training, and support.
