    SanaaYetu Community Based Organisation, established in 2019, is dedicated to empowering women and youth in Nairobi, Kenya. We believe that access to information, education, and business opportunities are the cornerstones of a progressive community. Our initiatives focus on mental wellness, menstrual hygiene, environmental cleanliness, and advocating for policies that support women's health and youth entrepreneurship. By providing educational resources and advocating for favorable tax and loan policies, we strive to uplift our community and create lasting change.

    The Challenges

    Our community faces significant challenges that hinder progress and development:

    • High Teenage Pregnancy Rates: Due to the lack of proper sanitary products, many teenage girls engage in early sex to afford these necessities, leading to high rates of teen pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases.
    • School Dropout Rates: The absence of menstrual hygiene products forces many girls to miss school, resulting in high dropout rates and a bleak future.
    • Stigma Around Menstruation: The lack of menstrual hygiene products and education perpetuates the stigma around menstruation, affecting the self-esteem of young girls.
