Mawuvi Basketball Fellowship is a social impact organization in the Volta Region of Ghana. We are committed to creating structured basketball programs that nurture teamwork, leadership, discipline, and resilience in youth. These programs not only enhance athletic skills but also develop essential life skills such as communication, goal-setting, and time management through targeted workshops and sessions. Additionally, we are dedicated to raising awareness about critical environmental issues in rural areas. Our initiatives include waste management education, tree planting activities, conservation efforts, climate action advocacy, and promoting renewable energy.

The Challenges

The lack of a proper playground and social centers forces youths to play and learn on undeveloped bare grounds and streets. These conditions are neither reliable nor conducive. Constructing a basketball court in the community would provide a safe, reliable, and serene environment for youth to express their love and passion for basketball. This court would serve as a vital tool for social change, offering a dedicated space for personal growth and community building.

Why it matters

Your support will fund the development of a community basketball court at the Wli Waterfalls junction in the Hohoe area in the Volta Region. The court will feature full cementing, court markings, decorative elements, bamboo side fencing, durable fiberglass hoops, and lighting. This facility will be free and open to all members of the community. By providing a dedicated space for basketball, we will enable local youth to fully participate in the sport, develop their skills, and form teams. Most importantly, this court will bring immense satisfaction to the many young people in the community who have a deep passion for basketball. Your contribution will help foster personal growth, community engagement, and positive social change through sports.
