Sexual abuse is a critical issue that affects many young girls in rural communities across Nigeria. At Goal Women Africa, we are committed to creating a supportive environment where these girls can speak out and seek help. We are raising $5,000 to educate and mobilize rural communities to support sexual abuse victims in secondary schools, ensuring they have access to the resources and support they need.

The Challenges

We face significant obstacles in mobilizing people from various communities. We need the right materials and resources to make our impact projects effective. With 33 local governments in Oyo state alone, and plans to expand to other states, we need sufficient funding to ensure communities know the right agencies to approach when cases of sexual abuse arise. Additionally, we aim to provide assistance to healthcare providers in these circumstances.

Why It Matters

Securing these funds will enable us to involve stakeholders in achieving our aims, expand our reach across various states in Nigeria, and provide healthcare assistance where needed. With the right materials, such as printed materials, handbills, and books, we can make our awareness campaigns more effective. We will advocate for stronger laws and policies protecting children from sexual abuse, using media and organized walk outreaches. Furthermore, we will provide psychological, medical, and legal support to victims.
