Founded in 2017, the Erudite Women’s Empowerment Foundation (EWEF) is a registered nonprofit organization based in Konongo, Ashanti Region, Ghana. Our mission is to empower girls and young women to reach their fullest potential by providing them with the necessary resources and opportunities. We focus on adolescent girls' sexual and reproductive health, women's leadership, and mentorship programs. We believe in a world where every girl, regardless of her socio-economic background, can thrive and succeed.

The Challenges

In many rural communities in Ghana, girls face significant challenges during menstruation. Due to a lack of education, access to menstrual products, and persistent taboos, many girls miss school during their periods. This contributes to lower educational attainment and higher dropout rates, trapping them in a cycle of poverty and inequality. Project iMenstruate seeks to change this by improving menstrual health management for over 2,000 in-school girls in underserved communities in the Ashanti Region.

Why It Matters

Menstruation should never be a barrier to education. By supporting Project iMenstruate, you will help ensure that girls have the resources, knowledge, and support to manage their menstrual health with dignity. This project is especially crucial for girls with disabilities who often face even greater challenges. Your contribution will help break the cycle of period poverty and empower these girls to stay in school and achieve their dreams.

Your donation will have a tangible impact on the lives of these girls. Success indicators include:

  • Increased school attendance and academic performance among project beneficiaries.
  • Improved health outcomes related to menstrual hygiene.
  • Boosted self-esteem and confidence, enabling girls to participate fully in their education.
  • Reduced stigma and increased understanding of menstrual health within their communities.

The Solution

Funds raised through this campaign will be used to:

  1. Install Pad Banks in 20 underserved schools in the Ashanti Region, providing girls with access to reusable sanitary pads.
  2. Promote Sustainable Practices by stocking these pad banks with eco-friendly products and educating the community on waste management.
  3. Raise Awareness by conducting programs that challenge and demystify menstrual myths and taboos.
  4. Collaborate with Stakeholders to create a supportive environment for addressing period poverty.

Transparency Promise

We pledge to uphold the highest standards of transparency and accountability. Every contribution will be diligently tracked, with regular updates on our progress and detailed reports on how your donations are making a difference.
